First Day OF College

First Day Of College

On the very first day of my college, I didn't knew what was going to happen. On reaching the campus first of all I was told to go to a particular room for the registration. There I came to know that I had to bring with me the photocopies of the admission letter also. One of the sir, who was doing the registration, told me to go to the library and get the letter xeroxed. So up I went all the way to the second floor to the library and did the required. By this time in the auditorium 'Iqbal' picture was put up so that parents can watch it. My father went there to see but my mother remained seated in the corridor in case I needed help. After the registration process was over I was told to make the affidavit. We had to make four, two by parents and two by students. After this we were asked to go to the mess to have our lunch. but before going there we first went to the hostel to keep my stuff and do the hostel registration. There we needed one photocopy of hostel fees receipt. We didn't have any so I had to go all the way to the administration block and do the same. But there was a long queue over there, so I came back. On my way back to the hostel I met Hina Didi who said that she will go and bring the photocopy and within five minutes she was back with it. Then I went to keep my bags in the room with Hina Didi. Parents were not allowed in the hostel so they were waiting outside. I kept my bags in the cupboard, locked it and then came down. My room was on the third floor. After this we had our lunch. By this time it was already 1:30.
All the freshers had to assemble in the ground in the evening, around 5 pm, till then we were free. We had to use our own buckets and mug. Since I didn't bring any along with me, so we went to the market to buy it. My mother also brought me two bedsheets as there was none in the room. After that we came back towards the hostel. I went inside and kept the bucket and bedsheets in the cupboard and then came down. After that, since there was no work to do my parents decided to go back to Jaipur. So after some time they left. I didn't knew what to do so I went to my room and arranged the things in the cupboard. After that I went to have a bath. By this time it was already time for us to assemble in the ground. There the brigadier introduced us to various sports. Those interested in volleyball, basketball and golf were sent to the respected courts, rest were told to go up to a hill. Since I didn't want to go up till there I decided to play volleyball. It wasn't a very tiring game. During this interval I talked to my mother almost three to four times. After the game we all went to the auditorium. There the brigadier put a movie 'Macao's Gold' for us. The movie was good but many didn't like it, so they left the auditorium. After the movie we went to have our dinner. After dinner we had a meeting in our hostel. We were told that like this everyday we will have to give our attendance to our respective senior. Swati Didi was appointed for CS and IT students. After that we were given our room keys. Then we all went to our respective rooms and went to sleep.

Dying to...

First I was dying to finish my high school and start college. And then I was dying to finish my college and start working. Then I was dying to marry and have children. And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could go back to work. But then I was dying to retire. And now I am dying. And suddenly I realised I forgot to live.
Don't let this happen to you. Appreciate your current situation and enjoy each day.

To make make money we lose our health and then to restore our health we loose money. We live as if we are never going to die and die as we never lived.

Don't get disheartened

  • Officials rejected a candidate for a news broadcaster postsince his voice was not fit for a news broadcaster. He was also told that with his obnoxiously long name he would never be famous. He is AMITABH BACHCHAN.

  • In 1962, 4 nervous young musicians played there 1st record audition for the executives of the Decca Recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians one executive said,"We don't like their sound.Groups of guitar are on the way back." The group was called THE BEATLES.

  • A small boy - the 5th amongst 7th siblings of a poor father- was selling newspapers in a small village to earn his living. He was not exceptionally smart at school but was facinated by religion and rockets. The 1st rocket he built crashed. A missile that he built crashed multiple times and he was made a butt of ridicule. He is the to have scripted the space odyssey of India single handedly. He is Dr. A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM.

  • When THOMAS EDISON invented light bulb, he tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said,"I never failed once.Iinvented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000 step procedure."

  • The school teacher scolded a boy for not paing attention to his mathematics and for not being able to solve simple problems. She told him that you would not become anybody in life. The boy was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

Moral: Winner is not the one who never fails, but one who never quits.

True friends

  • A true friend is the one who holds your hand and thus touchs your heart.
  • Don't waste time with someone who won't support you in time of need.
  • Always remember the words from a true friend: "I'll be there for you."
  • The greatest you can give to someone is your time because when you give someone your time you are giving them a portion of your life that you will never get back.
